Inspired Leadership Starts from Within

How do you cultivate more inspired leaders who act boldly, speak powerfully, and lead holistically?

Impact. Connection. Courage. As women leaders, we seek them because we know these are some of the most important elements needed to drive engagement, job satisfaction, and results. Yet, in a 24/7 hyper-connected world, it’s often difficult to step outside yourself, pause the ever-growing to-do list, and cultivate behaviors that lead to impact, connection, and courage.

We’ve all heard advice such as ‘bring your whole self to work’ and ‘be fully present in the moment.’ In fact, research shows that practices such as mindfulness can not only increase productivity at work, but also increase creativity and employee engagement. We know leadership behaviors which embody the whole leader can drive better business interactions, problem solving ability, and productivity, all leading to enhanced corporate performance. How do you develop a holistic leader? Where do you start?

During a recent Wellesley College Leadership for Impact program, participants discovered the answer. Our executive education model, designed exclusively for women, shows how leaders can become more effective by tapping into the power that already exists within them. Our new, holistic, three-pronged approach curates a data-driven, practitioner-focused, mindful practice like no other. Participants discover their power by learning about critical leadership skills and behaviors, but also by reflection, mindfulness and connection building.

By applying a liberal arts lens to the practice of leadership, our approach integrates communication strategies, critical thinking, data-driven decision-making and intentionality. In our inspired, retreat-like lakeside campus, we facilitate gender-based leadership discussions in a way only Wellesley College can. We teach women how to engage, energize and excel. As a result, these leaders return to work ready to navigate new challenges and create a lasting impact.

Our learning environment and approach not only elevate leadership talent in women, but also lead to better business performance and higher levels of productivity and engagement for the organizations with which they work. We empower, inspire and encourage the whole person in our leadership education for women.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

COVID-19 UPDATE 9/3/20: Wellesley College's senior administration recently determined our campus will remain closed to the public and to outside guests throughout the fall in order to protect our community of students, faculty, and staff. As a result, all Executive Education programs scheduled for 2020 at Wellesley College have been regrettably cancelled.

We often say Wellesley's Executive Education for Women is an experience and a place that transforms you. We considered alternative methods to deliver the powerful messages our instructors want to share with you; however, the many restrictions brought forth by the pandemic impact how we can effectively create an optimal experience. We hope we may find innovative ways to come together again in 2021. Until then, we wish you health and safety during this extraordinary time.
